Z1 Subcommittee on Environmental Management
Are you interested in joining the national consensus-body responsible for the U.S. adoption of standards developed by ISO/TC 207? Do you want to have a say in not only what is adopted by ISO/TC 207, but also in which ISO/TC 207 standards are adopted within the United States? We are currently seeking membership from those representing an organization or government entity. It's easy to join and it's FREE!!
ASC Z1 on Environmental Management (EM) is an ANSI Accredited Standards Committee whose secretariat is held by ASQ. ASC Z1 on EM's scope covers generic standards having application in the field of environmental management. ASC Z1 on EM is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and serving as a consensus body.
Requirements for membership: The membership of ASC Z1 on EM consists of national organizations, companies, governmental agencies, and individuals interested in contributing to the standards development process. Membership requires attendance at two of the last four subcommittee meetings and a return of at least three out of the last four ballots. Meetings are generally held in conjunction with the U.S. TAG meeting. Cost of membership: FREE. Social Responsibility
Is Your Organization Socially Responsible? If it is - WE WANT YOU!
Dozens of organizations across all sectors of the economy are already making their voices heard in developing the U.S. position on an international social responsibility standard. By joining the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on Social Responsibility today, you will combine forces with representatives from government groups like NIST and Houston Port Authority; large corporations like ExxonMobil, Coca-Cola, and Hewlett-Packard; and organizations like SAI, ANAB, and BBB.
Created and administered by ASQ, the TAG currently has 49 members and seeks more representatives from the following six interest categories:
- Labor
- Consumer
- Government
- Nongovernmental organizations
- Industry
- Services, support, research, and others
How Can Organizations Get Involved?
Organizations of any size may participate by joining the U.S. TAG. Members will attend approximately two meetings throughout the year, review proposals and working documents, and respond to voting requests via e-mail. Organizations can also help by offering supplies or meeting space for the committee to conduct business.
